THE LANDMARK NICOSIA: Welcoming the business community to the start of a new era

More than 300 of the island’s political representatives, business leaders and members of the media welcomed The Landmark Nicosia last night into its dynamic new era.

The capital city’s emblematic hotel held its annual corporate meeting in the presence of the Cypriot business community, impressively marking the start of its bright new journey, following its acquisition by Invel and NBG Pangaea.

The corporate event also gave the hotel’s new owners the opportunity to introduce to the public their vision for capitalizing on the enormous development potential of The Landmark Nicosia, which is also set to bring value to the city, the hospitality industry, and the local economy.

Giving his first speech since becoming the majority shareholder (98%) of the CTDC company, Founder and CEO of Invel and and President of the Board and the Investment Committee of NBG Pangaea, Mr. Christoforos Papachristoforou highlighted the significance of the hotel’s position, which has made it a reference point for the city and the epicenter of the island’s business, political, social and diplomatic activities.

He also outlined his vision for the extensive refurbishment of The Landmark Nicosia, which will include an upgrade of its infrastructure and the further expansion of its facilities, granting the hotel a pivotal role in Nicosia’s economic and tourism development.

Mr. Papachristoforou specifically mentioned that: “The immediate plans are to renovate the hotel unit in such a way that will allow for it to continue to operate in the best way possible. At the same time, we will proceed with further expansions that will include the development of an ambitious residential and tourist project on the adjacent plot of the hotel, which will possibly be under an international brand.”

In his own greeting, hotel Director, Mr. Haris Michael, emphasized the Management and staff’s readiness to embrace this renewal, while at the same time remaining firmly committed to their emblematic hotel’s longstanding values, as well as to the high standard of service that has distinguished it for so many years.

The event kicked off with an impressive video depicting The Landmark Nicosia’s leading role in the island’s history, showcasing various snapshots from its many years of hospitality. The idea behind the creation of the new logo was also presented, as was the new owners’ commitment to its revival.

Presenting the event was renowned journalist and presenter, Gogo Alexandrinou, who was on hand to welcome the attendees and introduce the three speakers. The evening culminated in a grand cocktail party with a musical accompaniment by a DJ.

Invel and NBG Pangaea have recently acquired the well-known Nicosia hotel, renaming it The Landmark Nicosia. The new name and logo came into effect as of 1st July 2019.

In this shining new era, the hotel continues to play a starring role in the capital’s hospitality industry. Both corporate and private individuals continue to place their trust in the reliable services offered by The Landmark Nicosia for conferences, gatherings, and social events. This has resulted in full hotel occupancy in the coming months.
